Today was a really scary morning. We got a call from the doctor that Jase had a really bad episode this morning. He started spitting up, and had a brady(big dip of his heart rate) and desat(big dip in his oxygen level). He wasn't coming up on his own, so the nurse went over to give him some stimulation (rubbing his back.) He still wasn't coming up, so she really started rubbing harder. He still wasn't coming up, and he quit breathing, and turned blue. They had to put an ambu bag over his nose and mouth to help him breathe. It worked and then he was fine after that. They assured me this is a normal occurrence for these babies, but of course it freaked us out! So today has not been the best day; I've just been crying alot, and worrying about my baby. In addition, Audrey threw up twice this morning. And all of this is on top of our power going out last night for 3 hours due to a storm, and apparently frying one of our computers - we can't get it to turn back on. And of course I have some pictures on there I haven't backed up yet. So today is just not a good day. There is some good news, however; yesterday they moved him from his isolette (the heated incubator with the cover on top) to an open basinette. So he is doing a good job keeping his temperature steady on his own. He also has gotten his PICC line removed from his scalp, which is a good step.
